By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 10 Apr 2007 Bingo fans who wouldn't enjoy the experience without sparking up have been dealt a boost thanks to a new initiative at a Bristol bingo hall.
Mecca Bingo in Barton Hill has drawn up plans for a specialist shelter outside, with a PA system which means that enthusiasts will be able to play bingo, smoke and stay dry, reports This is Bristol.
So for big winners, it could be all pina coladas and no getting caught in the rain.
A hall spokesman, Ian Barber, commented: "Fortunately this is not a high street pub where you have no room to build a shelter outside and so given the option, we have chosen to put one up."
He added that the company has learned from the introduction of the smoking ban in Scotland last year.
The full ban on smoking in public places throughout England will be implemented in July 2007 and have implications for both bingo halls and enthusiasts.
