By Becky Turner on Monday, 29 Jan 2007 A 27-year-old woman from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, has described how she broke into tears upon winning £201,273 while playing bingo last weekend.
The woman, who was playing at her local Gala Bingo club in Peterhead on Saturday, has been playing bingo four times a week for the past eight years with her family, the National Bingo Game reports.
Commenting on her jackpot success, the lucky winner said she had to drink double vodka to help her cope with the shock.
"The best thing is I can now buy a house so that my children have a garden to run around in," she remarked.
"The very next morning after my win, I was at the estate agents picking up property journals!"
According to Gala Bingo, a player wins at one of its nationwide bingo halls every three minutes, with 250,000 people winning each week.
The firm presently boasts five million members, who play at its 175 clubs across the UK.
