A three-year-old computer whizz-kid bought a £9,000 car on eBay.
Rachael Neal of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, received an unexpected message from eBay saying that she had won an auction for a pink Nissan Figaro.
She knew nothing about it but then discovered that her son Jack had bought it. Rachael had left herself logged into her account on the website and mischievous boy racer Jack had pressed the "buy it now" button.
"Jack's a whizz on the PC and just pressed all the right buttons," she told the BBC. "I was just horrified. We now have the parental locks on – and we make sure we sign out of eBay!"
Fortunately for Rachael and her husband John, the seller of the one-litre turbo-charged pink Nissan did not hold them to the bid and said he would re-auction the car.
"Luckily he saw the funny side," Rachael said.
