The industry employee moved to the bingo software provider from online casino software developer WagerWorks.
He said that he was "pleased" to be arriving at the company, which he described as "one of the best kept secrets in online bingo".
"It has an excellent product offering reflected in its blue-chip client base, which includes big names such as Mecca, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Bet 365," said Mr Wheeler.
Indeed, Virtue Fusion and Bet 365 Bingo launched a numbers game offering in July this year.
Al Haig-Thomas, managing director for Mr Wheeler's new firm, said he was "delighted" with his organisation's latest arrival.
He alluded to the sales manager's "wealth of experience", "knowledge of the marketplace" and "proven track record" in the gaming industry.
