By Becky Turner on Monday, 3 Sep 2007 A woman from Paisley who was persuaded down her local bingo hall by two of her closest friends just one year ago, is celebrating after winning £50,000 on the National Bingo Game.
The winner who is a member of the Gala club in Phoenix Park in Paisley plays bingo regularly with her two mates.
And now the lucky lady has them to thank for introducing her to the bingo hall and her big-time win, and is sharing her prize money with them.
The three-way split of the cash comes after an agreement the friends made when they convinced her to take up the game.
"I didn't realise at first how much I had won, and when I did I felt sick, the club asked me if I wanted a drink and I asked for a brandy - but I never ever drink!" she told National Bingo Online.
The woman intends to use her portion of the money to treat her son and three grandchildren, and then to take her husband on holiday to Crete next year.
She won £700 a few months ago, although nothing could prepare her for this massive win!
