The 62-year-old was playing at the Gala Club in her home town of Darlington when she won, the National Bingo Game Association reports.
"It was the combination of excitement and shock that did it," she exclaimed. "I needed to take one of my pills to calm down!"
Her friend, with whom she always shares her winnings 50/50, also had a bit of a funny turn.
"She was with me at the time and she was completely overcome too," said the woman. "She has a heart problem and had to take a puff of her spray when she realised how much I had won."
The pair are both teetotallers so they celebrated the win with a nice cup of tea.
With the jackpot loot, the woman is aiming to go on holiday with her husband to Blackpool.
