By Becky Turner on Friday, 30 Mar 2007 A 52-year-old woman from Hatfield struck gold while playing bingo at her local Mecca Bingo hall in Harlow.
The lucky winner, who works as a mailing house supervisor, took home the £200,000 National Bingo Game jackpot, as well as both the regional and house prizes.
Describing the moment she won the cash, the woman said: "My husband leapt out of his seat and cried when he realised I had won, but I just sat there in disbelief."
The winner is now planning to pay for her daughter to go on a cruise to celebrate her 21st birthday, while the rest will help to finance her retirement plans.
Mecca Bingo, which also has an online bingo site, recently hosted its Half Price Same Prize Money offer, giving players the opportunity to play for 50 per cent of the normal price yet still win the full prize money.
