Robert Robinson from Worksop, Nottinghamshire was crowned the first ever European Bingo Champion on Sunday Night after he beat over 660 qualifiers on paddypowerbingo.com to scoop himself the top prize – a brand new Chevrolet Aveo.
Paddy Power Bingo ran the first ever European Bingo Championships in parallel with Euro 2008. The initiative was a huge success and saw thousands of Bingo lovers enter online through the month of June to win a place in the final and a chance of driving away in the top prize.
A total of 50 lucky players made the grand final on 29th and nobody was a loser as all walked away with a prize. Aside from the top trophy, other giveaways on the night included a weekend in Paris, a home make-over, free flights for a year, free bingo for a year, as well as top of the range camera’s and laptops to name just a few.
A clearly beaming Mr Robinson said: “I can’t believe it. I’ve never won anything as big as this before. It took me two hours solid to slug it out and qualify for the final but it was well worth it. I’m glad England weren’t in Euro 2008 now or I might not have entered and won the car!”
