Many bingo fans will be shocked to learn this week that Gala Bingo has pulled out its 162 clubs from the National Game.
The decision will come in to effect in September 2008, giving bingo lovers only a few more months to play the nationwide game at Gala Bingo's clubs.
Paul Talboys, National Bingo Game Association chief executive, said that he was surprised at Gala's decision.
He added: "However, I recognise that our member companies face their own specific challenges and may have short term issues that drive these decisions."
Mr Talboys confirmed that the National Bingo Game will continue doing business with other bingo leaders, such as Mecca, Buckingham and Castle.
In related news, a 43-year-old mum from Cusworth was celebrating last month when she won a whopping 187,000 at the Gala Bingo club in Doncaster.
The lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, said last week that she still couldn't believe her luck and had to keep pinching herself to make sure that it had really happened.
