Sun Bingo has confirmed its position as the premiere online bingo service in the UK, new research has revealed.
UK-based online bingo website BingoPort.co.uk has released figures this week which show that Sun Bingo accounts for 19 per cent of this market in terms of tickets sold and prizes awarded to players.
Scott Logan, managing director and co-founder of BingoPort.co.uk, said: "We've seen unprecedented growth in the online bingo industry here in the UK in the past year."
He added that online players are purchasing around �600 million worth of bingo tickets each year – a figure he described as "truly amazing considering the credit crunch".
Gala Bingo ranked second, accounting for 16 per cent of the market, while Foxy Bingo come third with 13 per cent and Jackpot Joy was fourth with ten per cent.
In related news, the Remote Gambling Association has said this week that there are "no security problems" with online gaming that people need to be concerned about.
