Bingo helps good causes

Four separate groups in Redruth, Cornwall will soon be presented with cheques for 100, thanks to bingo.

Regular numbers game sessions in the town have been raising money for good causes in the community, reports the Falmouth Penryn Packet.

The local St John's Ambulance group, Redruth Rugby Juniors, Penoweth Primary School and the Royal British Legion will be handed the money in the coming days.

All of the money has come from the bingo games played at the Royal British Legion.

This cash giveaway marks the end of the bingo sessions at the venue for 2008 - they will return on January 6th in the new year.

In online bingo news this week, BingoPort.co.uk announced plans for its annual awards ceremony.

According to the site, its Players Choice Awards will take place at the end of January and will recognise the best firms in the online numbers game sector.
