Internet gamers who chose to vote in the recent WhichBingo.com UK Bingo Site of the Year Awards had the "problem" of picking between around 240 portals currently on the web, according to the company's managing director (MD) Phil Fraser.
Jackpot Joy won the prize after votes collected in December 2008 were totted up earlier this month.
Mr Fraser claims that the ballot was "as equal and as fair as possible" because fans of bingo had the chance to vote for whoever they wanted to.
There was no shortlist it was "just a straight vote", the industry representative explained.
Other sites to have won the award in recent years are Mecca Bingo and Think Bingo.
The WhichBingo.com MD claimed that numbers game enthusiasts want "something different" from their site and they also want to be able to build a relationship with it.
