Devilfish Bingo Are We Going To Wave Them Goodbye?

by Penny Walker

Sad to hear but Devilfish Bingo has been a spectacular flop for owners during 2011; while there have also been some spectacular success stories look at Tombola and Jackpot Joy for examples. It is sad to see that Dave Ulliot's Devilfish Bingo, poker and casino is being sold to an unnamed third party for a mere 10th of the worth it was capitalized at when it was admitted on the London PLUS market. However the sale may not be the end for the brand, and we would actually be sad to see it go, but problems have plagued them almost since the day they came online.

Serious losses have been incurred along the way, but losses are nothing new to Mr. Ulliot; this character just kicks up his heels and tries again. His Devilfish brand was launched in 2005, to a massive world-wide audience, when Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot, wore a shirt emblazoned with the brand on a Fox TV televised poker game where no advertising was allowed. This actually gave the brand a very good start, but the bingo site was only launched in early 2010. Unfortunately this was not soon enough for the additional activity to save this online gambling operation.

There was a problem with white listing too, which meant Devilfish Bingo was unable to advertise in the UK. Why they went with a Kahnawake License seems strange to us they were unable to advertise to their core fan base in the UK; probably their first mistake. With their initial public offering they only 700 paying members, but they implemented a good affiliate programme from scratch and things looked up for a while. Unfortunately both this and the IPO where not enough to raise sufficient working capital!

Devilfish Bingo
and Poker is a very attractive brand, and we are hoping this won't be lost in translation whenever the sale takes place.
