We don't usually talk about land based bingo, but as you can play the Gala Bingo High Five online also, we thought we would give this story an airing. Sylvia Sharp-Cardigan has been playing bingo for 30 years and it is one of two passions in her life � the other passion is Elvis! She is 67 years old, still works as a cook in a care home in Salford Manchester where she lives. She landed the High Five Prize which was �250 000, and could not go on playing her second game until the club manager gave her a brandy!
As is tradition with this Gala Bingo Jackpot; 50% goes to the winner and the other 50% is shared between the members have bought tickets into the winning game. Her share was �128 000 which some small prizes also. Her dream is to visit Graceland, now she can do this and probably will next year. She is also sharing her winnings with her daughter who was playing with her at the time. As pilgrimages appear to be high on her "to do" list, she has always wanted to visit Lourdes with her church; she can do this too if this is what pleases her � but she definitely won't be giving up her weekly bingo night out! You have got to love British Bingo, there is nothing quite like it in the world!
