The popular and relatively new online bingo site, Tea and Bingo has taken it upon itself to keep us informed regarding matters of interest pertinent to the world of bingo. This next subject is one that comes up time and again in the UK. The demolishing of local Bingo halls so they can be replaced by commercial enterprises. Take the latest in a long line of these, pan to Cleveley, Blackpool.
A historic bingo hall the Orion, which has probably got a lot more history than just being a bingo hall, was built in 1934 and it is classic art deco. Historians and locals feel very strongly about the demolishing of these little pieces of history and yet it happens time and again. My analogy may be a bit strong, but would you demolish a 19th century church and replace it with a bingo hall? I hardly think so! So, why demolish a 1934 bingo hall and replace it with another God-awful supermarket? How many more of these monstrosities do we need? Thanks Tea and Bingo for at least keeping us informed, it is important to find a bingo site which talks about more than just bingo games does mention the affect this game has on society.
However back to bingo, and free bingo in particular. Did you know that Tea and Bingo offers back to back free bingo games on a Tuesday from 12:11pm in the Jive Caf? Neither did I; I just discovered it on the bingo schedule purely by accident. It is not something they seem to advertise; concentrating more on the free bingo in the Frog and Crown. The difference is that in the Jive Caf, the prizes are 30 each and in the Frog and Crown they are 5 each. Guess where I will be playing midday free bingo from now on, on Tuesdays? It won't be the Frog and Crown!
